Well the necklace is finished! I think it is absolutely fabulous. It was lots of hard work, but well worth it.
I have learned alot this week about the business and dealing with clients. Unfortunately, Brigitta owner of 3 Crowns in Lahaina was not pleased with the necklace's length and just generally appalled by it. When I was trying to appease the situation and offer suggestions for improvement, she was dumbfounded by my behavior. Well, you cant always please a client no matter how hard you try, I kept my composer and think that overall I lost a client but I got a great necklace out of it.

On another note.... I got some fabulous shoes this week.

These shoes are absolutely great! They are so comfortable and great looking, that I ordered one in red and one in black. They are by FitFlop... check them out its great designer!! I ordered off endless.com... what a great site!! If you have not checked endless out, you must, the deals are great and is a really easy website to deal with, its absolutely fantastic!!!

Well... working on some fall stuff so will post again soon with new fun things!!

  1. Gorgeous necklace! There is only so far that you can go to please a customer!

What sort of clay are you using?

I made some flower beads a while back, which were quite thin, a similar thickness to the ones in your necklace from what I can see, but mine broke after wearing for a while.

As they had been baked for the correct amount of time, I thought maybe it was my clay, which was at fault.

  2. Fabulous necklace! I love the "glorious" way you combine color and form in your pieces and judging from vibrations and energy coming from your work you surely are "putting a lot of positive energy into the universe”. I think it's virtually impossible to look at "I'm so blue" and BE blue.

  4. It's a lovely necklace. It's interesting, and the colors are gorgeous. I like the way the blue beads peek out here and there, too.

Well, there's no accounting for tastes. I learned that lesson well as a child. My mother and aunt had no time for any colors except blues, greens, and pinks, and even a nice present that happened to be brown was displeasing to them! So when I grew up and began to go for clothes in greys or subdued orange tones, it was incomprehensible and upsetting, ha ha.

I am sure there are others who would love that necklace, but you seem to be happy that it is now yours to wear. Enjoy it in good health, and thanks for showing it to us.
